The Swiss gaming regulatory body, Gespa, has declared that Jean-Michel Cina will take over as the agency’s leader, succeeding Jean-François Roth.
Cina will assume the leadership role on the first of January, 2022, and his tenure will extend until the end of December, 2025. Cina previously held the position of a government representative in the Valais region and led the regional government from 2005 to 2017. In addition to his role as vice-leader of the expert board for the regional lottery market, Cina recently served as the head of the board of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SSG SSR.
Along with Cina, Miriam Weber and Professor Pascal Mahon were chosen for the Gespa board, replacing Bruno Elni and Jean-Marc Rap.
Gespa stated: “Gespa and its administrative team express gratitude to the departing leader and board members for their long-standing contributions.”
These individuals were instrumental in establishing the regulatory organization and have significantly contributed to enhancing the regulations governing lotteries, sports wagering, and skill-based games, making them more refined and professional.”
