## Nigeria Prepares for Global Gaming Summit, Eyes Overseas Capital
The city of Lagos, Nigeria is set to welcome the world to the International Gaming Conference from October 31st to November 1st, 2023. This gathering signifies a major move by the nation as it endeavors to draw in foreign capital and bolster its rapidly expanding gaming sector.
Once a domestic affair, the conference has been elevated to an international platform with the goal of broadening Nigeria’s commercial horizons and stimulating economic progress. This shift was declared by Lanre Gbajabiamila, the head of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), the entity tasked with coordinating the conference.
The upcoming event is anticipated to be larger in scope than ever before, drawing in prominent individuals and enterprises not only from within Nigeria and Africa, but also from the worldwide gaming arena. The NLRC views this as a golden chance to link Nigerian gaming pioneers and prospective investors with key stakeholders in the global market.
The conference will unfold at the esteemed Eko Hotels and Suites, situated in Lagos’ Victoria Island.
This advancement coincides with a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s gaming industry. In recent times, more than 30 operators were sanctioned for breaching regulatory guidelines. The government is adopting a firm position on guaranteeing an equitable and controlled gaming landscape, encouraging the public to solely participate with officially authorized operators.
The gaming industry is flourishing across Africa, spearheaded by Nigeria and South Africa. Projections indicate that by 2023, South Africa alone will generate a staggering $2.3 billion in revenue from both physical and digital wagering – a truly remarkable windfall!
